Media Recertification

At Webuyusedtape, we call our process "Recertification," not reworked, re-manufactured, re-conditioned or other names you may hear from other companies. By this we mean writing a pattern of all one's and zero's, full length, every bit position to each tape, and recording the error activity encountered during the process. This not only assures that our customers receive only high quality recertified media, but also ensures that your data cannot be read or ever recovered.

Recent white papers released by Tape Manufacturers exposing the "dangers" of recertified data tapes has prompted webuyusedtape to release a point by point paper on why recertified tape makes sense for your company. While many companies offer refurbished, reworked or otherwise second-rate tape for resell, Webuyusedtape follows stringent guidelines, often better than original manufacturer specifications, for our recertified media. You should be wary of most companies selling used data tapes. Most do not follow the strict guidelines that we do. Also the white papers released by tape companies were released in their own best interest. The manufacturers are trying to protect their profit, because they realize that the cost savings from companies using recertified media would draw customers away. Media Redeployment

Webuyusedtape tape redeployment for your corporation provides a proven and profitable solution. Within each corporate IT department there becomes the situation where obsolete media needs to be re deployed or replaced due to scheduled system upgrades. When a major upgrade occurs, often the media used also needs to be upgraded, usually before the media reaches the end of its life-cycle. Data and Media Destruction

After a major media or data conversion or copying job, you may be faced with many old tapes that need disposal. Webuyusedtape can provide Media Destruction services All tapes can be degaussed before destruction and then disposed of in compliance with local environmental regulations. Some parts may also be recycled, Webuyusedtape will provide a certificate of media destruction if required.
